How to Book a Session
Reiki is a gentle Japanese healing practice developed in the early 1900s by Mikao Usui. Rooted in Japanese tradition, it draws on elements of spiritual practice and philosophy that encourage presence, balance and self-cultivation. Rather than focusing on treating symptoms, Reiki creates a supportive environment where body and mind can naturally settle, allowing your own capacity for balance and wellbeing to emerge.
A simple way to understand Reiki is to think of it as a practice that supports your natural state of balance. In the Reiki tradition, this is described as working with Ki, often translated as life energy. Rather than trying to add something that is missing, Reiki gently supports what is already present, creating space for the body and mind to relax, regulate and reconnect. The client remains fully clothed, and energy flows to where it's needed, addressing physical, mental, or emotional imbalances. The goal is to restore the body's natural energy balance, supporting the healing process. People often feel deeply relaxed and renewed after a session.
Reiki is valued by many people as a gentle practice that supports overall wellbeing and creates space for rest, balance and self-awareness.People often describe experiencing:deep relaxation and reduced stressa calmer, more settled nervous systemgreater emotional balance and resilienceimproved sleep and mental claritya renewed sense of presence and inner stabilitygentle support during times of change, uncertainty or emotional overwhelm Because Reiki takes a holistic approach, each experience is unique. Some people notice immediate relaxation, while others become aware of more subtle changes over time. Rather than focusing on a single outcome, Reiki offers a supportive space where body and mind can naturally find greater balance.
Reiki is not a medical treatment, nor does it diagnose or treat illness. Instead, it offers a gentle and supportive practice that can complement conventional healthcare by creating a space for rest, relaxation and overall wellbeing. In the Reiki tradition, it is understood that when the body and mind are deeply relaxed, our natural capacity for balance and recovery can be supported. Rather than focusing on symptoms or trying to fix a particular condition, Reiki encourages us to meet our experience with presence, allowing the body to respond in its own way and at its own pace.Reiki may offer support on different levels:Physical Wellbeing – encouraging deep relaxation and supporting the body's natural restorative processes.Mental & Emotional Wellbeing – helping to reduce stress, calm the mind and create greater emotional balance.Spiritual Wellbeing – fostering a deeper sense of connection, presence and inner awareness. These aspects of wellbeing are closely connected. As one begins to settle, the others often benefit as well, supporting a more holistic sense of balance.

Distance Reiki is a method that allows energy healing to be shared without the client and practitioner being in the same physical space, regardless of location. Healing.Barcelona offers two ways of Distance Reiki: remotely or online, depending on your preference.
A remote session is done offline. A time is scheduled in advance, and the practitioner may request a photo and provide simple preparation instructions. After the session, you'll receive a follow-up via email or WhatsApp to share your experience and ask any questions.
An online session is held live via video call (Zoom, Google Meet, or WhatsApp). A time is scheduled in advance. You’ll receive a link and preparation guidance in advance. Before and after the session, there's time for conversation, helping you reflect and gain clarity around your healing experience.
Healing.Barcelona offers Distance Reiki sessions in the format that feels most supportive to you — whether offline or live online.
A remote Distance Reiki session lasts around 45-60 minutes and includes a brief written exchange before and after the treatment, giving you space to share how you're feeling and reflect on your experience.
An online Distance Reiki session at Healing.Barcelona lasts approximately 60 minutes, including a 5–10 minute consultation before and after the treatment.
A remote session is done offline, without a video call. A time is scheduled in advance, and the practitioner may request a photo and provide simple preparation instructions. After the session, you'll receive a follow-up via email or WhatsApp to share your experience and ask any questions.
A remote Distance Reiki session lasts around 30-45 minutes and includes a brief written exchange before and after the treatment, giving you space to share how you're feeling and reflect on your experience.
An online Distance Reiki session begins with a short check-in with the practitioner, followed by a guided meditation to help you relax. You’ll be invited to lie down in a quiet space where you can be comfortable and undisturbed. During the Reiki treatment, you may notice sensations like warmth, tingling, or a gentle flow of energy. Some people experience memories, emotions, or moments of clarity, while others simply feel deeply relaxed. Every session is unique and your experience may vary each time. At the end of the session, there’s time to reflect and ask questions. The full session lasts about one hour.
A remote Distance Reiki session takes place without a live video or phone call. Once your session is scheduled, you’ll receive simple instructions to prepare, and you may be asked to share a recent photo. Before the session, you’ll have a brief written exchange with the practitioner to check in. At the agreed time, you’ll lie down in a quiet space or sit in Meditation pose where you can fully relax. The practitioner will begin the session, connecting with your energy to offer Reiki. While every experience is different, people often report sensations such as warmth, tingling, emotional release, or a deep sense of peace. After the session, the practitioner will follow up with you in writing (via email or WhatsApp) to reflect on the experience and answer any questions. A remote session typically lasts 30 to 45 minutes, including written consultation before and after.
Reiki, developed in Japan in the early 1900s, uses the same energy concepts as martial arts like karate and aikido. Central to Reiki is the hara (abdomen), the body's energy powerhouse. Usui Mikao's teachings focus on cultivating energy in the hara, along with the head and heart, known as the Three Diamonds, to promote balance and health.
Yes, you can learn Reiki on your own. The system has three levels: Shoden (Level 1) for self-healing, Okuden (Level 2) for deeper practice and symbols, and Shinpiden (Level 3) for personal development and attunements. Each level builds on the previous one, enhancing personal growth and wellbeing. Healing.Barcelona will offer Shoden (Level 1) for self-healing in 2026 in English and German.
